Description: The demonstration is based on a simple example of two treatment groups, each replicated a total of three times. The data are used to illustrate "independence" and to walk through the decomposition into each term of the model: mean, effect, and residual. The computations can be performed mentally. The decomposition is revisited to show how degrees of freedom are ascribed to each term.

Instructions: Review the PowerPoint slides for more of the demonstration. Then open the script and run it. The default values are the same ones that appear in the slides. You can run it again and change the values. The data are presented graphically twice, once representing the null hypothesis (left side) and again representing the alternative hypothesis (right side). The reports to the right of the graph mimic the content of the slides. The bottom of the report contains a copy of the standard analysis with an F ratio and p value.

Requirements: None. An ANOVA Model Microsoft PowerPoint presentation is included.

Note: No support shall be provided for any JMP scripting language code furnished on this site.
