JMP® Clinical: Streamlining
JMP Clinical software, now available from SAS, shortens the drug development process by streamlining safety reviews during clinical trials. JMP Clinical is designed for medical reviewers, epidemiologists, data monitors, biostatisticians and biometrics groups engaged in analyzing safety data from clinical trials. It dynamically links advanced statistics and graphics, enabling sophisticated analysis of adverse events, labs, incidence indicators and patient profiles. Interactive data visualization capabilities let users see and explore safety data from every angle, then easily share findings with others. "It was clear to us early on that JMP Clinical will help us achieve a quicker turnaround in the drug approval process," said Steve Wong of Gilead Sciences Inc., Senior Director for Statistical Programming in the company's Biometrics Department and a beta tester for JMP Clinical. "I believe JMP has hit a home run with this tool."READ MORE Discovery Summit Features Author of 'Predictably Irrational' Best-Seller Dan Ariely, author of The New York Times best-seller Predictably Irrational, will discuss his ongoing research in the realm of behavioral economics, the study of how people act in real-world situations. If you've read his book, you know his mantra: we may believe we have the ability to make rational choices, but our conduct is highly illogical - in a predictable sort of way. Come hear about why we cheat, disregard nutrition labels and let short-term emotions affect long-term business decisions, among many other paradoxes of human nature.READ MORE Lighting the Path to a Green Revolution Cree Inc., the market-leading innovator of LED lighting based in Durham, NC, has a mission: to eliminate all energy-wasting light bulbs from the face of the Earth. At the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the Water Cube aquatic center glowed with the light of 496,000 Cree XLamp light-emitting diodes. Authorities were so pleased by the pure, bright light that Cree was asked to switch out the fluorescent bulbs originally planned to light the exterior of the Bird's Nest Stadium and replace them with 258,000 of the energy-saving semiconductors. JMP helps find and correct imperfections in the manufacturing process.READ MORE When a Diamond Is Not Forever After his wife lost the diamond from her ring while snorkeling, JMP Product Manager Lou Valente needed to replace it. "I am now older and perhaps wiser this second time around. I decided to do my homework and leverage my JMP savvy for my decision making process," Lou writes. He collected data on diamond rings and used the Profiler in JMP to help him choose the right diamond. Try out Lou's Profiler in his blog post and download his JMP file from the JMP File Exchange.READ MORE You're Invited: June 23 Life Sciences Seminar Collecting life sciences data isn't the problem. Making sense of it is today's greatest challenge. If you work in life sciences or biotechnology, make plans now to attend a June 23 seminar at SAS World Headquarters in Cary, NC, to explore the importance of data visualization in the realm of life sciences analysis. Learn how visual analytics bring context and clarity to volumes of life sciences data. Through a series of case studies, you will see how dynamic data visualization lets you explore analysis results interactively, uncovering hidden trends and outliers. Be among the first to see our new JMP Clinical software in action, explore JMP Genomics, and get a sneak peek at new life sciences capabilities in JMP 9, the upcoming version of our original product.READ MORE Helping Women Visualize a Better Life Nonprofit group Women's Microfinance Initiative (WMI) uses JMP to analyze and visually communicate the challenges and successes of impoverished Ugandan women who are its loan recipients. WMI student volunteers - with no previous statistical experience - create charts and graphs that are used effectively in fundraising efforts.READ MORE New Learning Library Offers 24 Students - and anyone else - can learn statistics with tutorials courtesy of Ramon Leon and Charlie Cwiek at University of Tennessee - Knoxville, and one-page guides created by JMP academicians. Learn chi-square tests, z-scores, multivariate analysis, linear regression and more. Each tutorial links to data and step-by-step instructions for using JMP to perform a statistical task.
READ MORE Lowering Costs Through Visual Analytics See how visual analytics and predictive modeling can help you cut costs and maximize profits. Attend one of four complimentary seminars: in New York June 8 or 9, or in Philadelphia June 22 or 23.
